Impulse Insider - What are your St. Patrick’s Day Plans?

March 10, 2014

As the City begins to turn green in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we have put together a highlight reel of some of the ways you can participate in the festivities around Manhattan:

  • Bar Crawls

It should come as no surprise that there are plenty of options to choose from all weekend long as almost every neighborhood has something planned! Check out some of the organized events here:

  • The Amazing New York Scavenger Hunt – March 16th

If you don’t want to spend all day in a bar in preparation for St. Patrick’s Day then join this city-wide scavenger hunt. It’s a yearly tradition that’s one part scavenger hunt, one part obstacle course, with a dash of field day. It’s a great way to meet new people and enjoy a lot of laughs throughout the day.

  • For The Foodie:

This weekend is the time to indulge in some hearty Irish meals. Head to your local pub for Guinness Stew and soda bread, or pop over to one of NYC’s famous corned beef specialists for a stacked sandwich. If you’re the DIY type, there are cooking classes that will teach you everything you need to know in order to host a St. Patty’s dinner party…you’ll even be brewing the beer!

And, OF COURSE, the one and only NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17th.  Get your yearly fill of bagpipes, kilts, Clydesdales, Irish dancers, Leprechauns, and all the plaid your eyes can handle. The route heads down 5th Avenue and kicks off at 11AM. Let’s hope this weather holds out long enough for it to really feel like a Spring Day!
